Empennage Strategic Solutions draws its name from aviation engineering, where the empennage or tail section provides crucial stability and control for an aircraft. This metaphor perfectly encapsulates our mission of providing unmatched expertise to stabilize and guide businesses through the complex landscape of defense and federal contracting.
Meet the founder
Jason Henderson
Jason Henderson is the founder of Empennage Strategic Solutions, LLC. After high school, he answered the call to serve by enlisting in the US Air Force, starting his career 'turning wrenches' by maintaining aircraft on the flight line. Through strong mentorship and support, Jason earned a college degree while on active duty and was selected for Officer Training School, commissioning as an Air Force officer. After commissioning, he went on to lead large organizations, programs, and teams across the Air Force acquisitions, operations, test & evaluation, maintenance, and education & training communities. Following the 9/11 attacks, he served five overseas deployments supporting the Global War on Terrorism.
Since retiring from the Air Force, Jason has led program execution, strategic growth, business development, capture, and other corporate functions at both small and large government contractors. He has a bias towards action, thrives on solving problems, and is committed to helping others reach their maximum potential.
Jason and his wife, Brandy, reside in the suburbs of Cincinnati, Ohio with their three children.
